The varying regions of Africa make this continent a year-round destination, but certain times of year are more popular for certain activities and countries. The dry season runs from May through to September, and wildlife is easier to spot at this time thanks to its tendency to stay near water sources.
However, the wetter months of November to April offer green, lush scenery and a different kind of beauty. This is a wonderful time to enjoy Africa’s spectacular bird life and the time you’re most likely to get some fantastic deals. While some countries in Africa will experience a lot of heavy rain at certain times, this is not true everywhere and there are many destinations worth visiting in the green season.
This is the peak of the wet season, which means it’s not the best time to visit the large Southern game reserves. However, it’s a wonderful time to visit Kenya where the rains are brief.
