Canada is very cold in the winter, but spectacularly beautiful, with magnificent planes of crisp white snow and frozen lakes which stretch as far as the eye can see. This is a great time to see the countryside at its most beautiful, but from the comfort and warmth of a train carriage. India is warm and dry at this time of year, and it’s a fantastic time for visiting the golden triangle and also exploring some of India’s less well-known areas, which are much easier to travel to by train than by car.
March and April are peak cherry blossom season in Japan and throughout much of central Asia, making this a particularly popular time to visit. The delicate blooms are well worth the hype, but we recommend finding a place to enjoy them off the beaten track to avoid the huge crowds which flock to busy parks.
